NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) – North Liberty plans to use its recently passed Local Option Sales Tax to partly fund the city’s new fire station.
The city expects to bring in about $2.8 million every year through the sales tax; about half of the tax is automatically pledged to help relieve property taxes. The other half is delegated to local projects, mainly the fire station.
