CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Two speed cameras along Interstate 380 have been approved to start issuing tickets again, more than a year after the state banned the city from using them.
The City of Cedar Rapids appealed the decision and noted in recent council communication notes that Iowa DOT reversed the prior denial for permits of the cameras at I-380 at J Avenue northbound and 1st Avenue southbound.
City staff are coordinating the next steps and restart timeline is still being worked out. According to the notes, a warning and public notice period will take place before full enforcement starts again…
