CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is bringing back its Military Tribute Banner Program for summer 2026, honoring veterans and active-duty service members with full-color banners displayed throughout downtown.
The banners will be installed on select light poles beginning Memorial Day weekend and will remain up through the end of August, the Freedom Festival announced. After the summer display, the banners will be moved inside the Veterans Memorial Building as part of a special tribute during Veterans Week in November.
“This program is such a meaningful way to celebrate and recognize the brave men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country,” said Freedom Festival Executive Director Brittany Barnhart. “Seeing these banners line downtown each summer is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made to protect our freedom. We are honored to provide a way for families and our community to show their gratitude.”…
