LINN COUNTY, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency is reminding residents to break down and flatten cardboard boxes before dropping them off at the Resource Recovery building, located at 1954 County Home Road in Marion.
Breaking down boxes helps staff inspect the materials and prevent contamination in the recycling stream.
Recently, boxes have been found containing non-recyclable items such as Styrofoam, plastic bags, bubble wrap, and plastic film. Some have even included household trash, batteries, and oily rags.
