Cedar Rapids breaks single-day snowfall record for November on Saturday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — The prolonged snowfall event Saturday has broken a record that has stood for 132 years!

Reports of 10-12″ of snow in the area would break the record for the most snow in a single day during the month of November.

The previous record was 9″ on Nov. 22, 1893. The record for the most snow in a single day in the winter is likely safe, which was set on Feb. 26, 1954 at 16.7″.
