DOT attempts to close trucking schools failing standards, while Kirkwood pulls ahead

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Thousands of trucking schools across the country may be forced to close, after the Department of Transportation found 44% of trucking schools are out of government compliance.

Almost 3,000 schools are in jeopardy of losing their certification if they do not meet federal government training requirements in the next 30 days. 4,500 other schools have been sent warnings.

Schools that are on this list are required to notify students, which may cause these schools to lose students and eventually be forced to close…
