Cedar Rapids police investigating credit card skimmers found at two stores

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Police are investigating after credit card skimming devices were found at two Family Dollar locations in Cedar Rapids.

According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, skimmers were removed Tuesday from registers at 901 First Ave. SW and 1531 32nd St. NE. Police said it is not yet known how much information was captured or what customer data may have been compromised.

Skimming devices can collect data stored on the magnetic strip of credit, debit or other financial cards, allowing unauthorized users to access account details…
