Cedar Rapids School Board to make cutbacks due to budget deficits from drop in enrollment

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) might have to close as many as six elementary schools to deal with dropping enrollment and subsequent funding loss.

Enrollment is the district’s biggest moneymaker, and due to the loss of hundreds of students, the district is missing out on more than $5 million this year.

When CRCSD loses students to competitors, it loses money too…
