Residents Advised to Prepare as City Braces for Weekend Snowfall and Plowing Efforts

The City is preparing for another snow event expected to bring 4 to 7 inches of snow from Saturday night through Sunday morning. This will be the second major snowfall in just over a week. Last weekend, 11 inches of snow fell between Friday night, November 28, and Sunday morning, November 30. Additional snow accumulated on Monday, December 1. City crews have been clearing snow, salting, plowing, and responding to resident reports through the MyCR system.

City response teams will be on 24-hour duty to address the new snowfall. Residents are asked to avoid parking on streets to help with plowing. Parked cars have previously made it difficult to clear residential streets. Plows will not clear streets blocked by vehicles. Residents can use the MyCR platform to report areas that need attention.

Officials warn that some slick spots may remain, especially where new snow covers existing ice. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution, reduce speed, and increase following distances. The City advises not to follow snowplows closely, as plows may stop or back up. Safe driving practices are recommended during these conditions…
