MARION, Iowa (KCRG) – The driver of a car that hit and killed a motorcyclist in 2023 will not be sentenced for vehicular homicide after pleading guilty to two other charges.
Debra Trimble, 62, from Cedar Rapids, took a plea agreement to the charges of a first-offense OWI and serious injury by vehicle. Her homicide by vehicle charge was dropped.
The crash happened the evening of October 3, 2023, near the intersection of Cottage Grove Avenue SE and Highlands Court SE in Marion.
Chad Craig, 48, of Cedar Rapids, died in the crash.
