Johnson County has announced its holiday schedule for winter 2025/2026. Most county offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, 2025, for Christmas. Offices will also close on Thursday, January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day. Essential services will remain available during these dates.
Emergency services, including the Johnson County Ambulance Service, Emergency Management Agency, and Medical Examiner Department, will operate 24 hours a day throughout the holidays. Their administrative offices will be closed, but emergency response will continue. For emergencies, residents should call 911. Non-emergency contact numbers are available for each department.
The Board of Supervisors will change its meeting schedule for the holidays. Meetings are planned for December 23, December 30, December 31, and January 2, 2026. The public can access these meetings by livestream. Departments such as Conservation and Secondary Roads will close administrative offices, but field operations and park access will continue.
