CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Colorado law enforcement officials are asking Cedar Rapids residents of Czech or Slovakian descent to submit DNA samples to help solve a cold case involving human remains found more than a year ago.
In May 2024, hikers discovered human remains near the Deer Creek Campground outside of Denver, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The Park County Coroner’s Office believes the person was between 30 and 60 years old and stood between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 8 inches tall.
Investigators determined the person was of Czech or Slovak descent, leading them to request DNA tests from people in Cedar Rapids with similar backgrounds…
