CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – An expansion of Cedar Rapids Charter school, CR Prep, is one step closer after the Hiawatha City Council approved plans for a new location.
As demand for enrollment at the public charter middle school continues to rise, so does the need for space. CR Prep principal Justin Blietz said the school initially planned to build on land across from its current campus. That building would have served 6th through 12th grade.
But with more families continuing to show interest in CR Prep, Blietz said the space wouldn’t be ready in time for next school year…
