Johnson County Sheriff’s Office first in Iowa to earn law enforcement accreditation

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa — The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has become the first sheriff’s office in Iowa to earn accreditation through the Iowa Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, officials announced.

The accreditation took effect Dec. 17 and is valid for four years. The program was developed by the Iowa Police Chiefs Association and the Iowa Sheriffs and Deputies Association and became available to agencies in late 2024.
