CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Outside of that, conditions will be fine surrounding the holiday for those who celebrate.
Clouds will build up overnight, leading to a mostly cloudy sky in most places by daybreak. Things should be quiet, though, and winds will generally be on the light side. Temperatures slide into the upper 20s in most cases.
Wednesday presents another mild day, with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. Clouds will be much more widespread, though, and there is the chance for a bit of drizzle or light rain shower activity by late morning into the afternoon. This precipitation should be just plain rain, and slick road conditions are unlikely given the relatively warm temperatures. It should also be of low consequence for people traveling for the holiday.
A bit of a wrinkle in the form of some patchy fog could emerge overnight Wednesday night into early Thursday. While this isn’t a certainty, it could result in some travel trouble in a few scattered spots. If you’re hitting the road early on Thursday, check ahead of your departure to make sure things aren’t too dense. Temperatures should stay above freezing, though, which should mitigate the risk for slick roadways…
