Iowa drivers face fines as hands-free law enforcement begins Jan. 1

Iowa (WOWT) – It’s something many people have admitted to doing, and soon Iowa police could be handing you a ticket for it.

Iowa’s hands-free law has been in effect since July. However, starting Jan. 1, officers will not need any additional reason to stop you.

That means, if an officer catches you on your phone while driving, you could face a ticket of up to $170 dollars…
