CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cordell Maleec Mayfield, a former used appliance business operator in Marion, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.
A jury found the 28-year-old from Cedar Rapids guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Evidence presented at trial revealed that Mayfield had the firearm at his business on September 19, 2024, when police conducted a welfare check.
