Carjacking suspect injured in shootout with Iowa law enforcement

LINN COUNTY, Iowa – A suspect in a carjacking in Cedar Falls was shot by law enforcement officers in Linn County following a pursuit Wednesday morning.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office posted on X that a carjacking suspect was involved in a pursuit with its deputies on I-380 into Hiawatha. LCSO said the suspect fired shots at officers and the suspect was then shot. They have been transported to a hospital.

KCRG reported that the vehicle the suspect was driving stopped in the median ditch on I-380 at Hiawatha and that’s where the shooting took place. They also said all officers are safe.
