IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – The State Historical Society building in Iowa City closed to the public on Wednesday after the state announced the closure in June due to a budget shortfall.
The plan is to move the building’s contents to the State Historical Society building in Des Moines, but one group has filed a lawsuit to stop that from happening.
