CORALVILLE, Iowa – The four remaining Jackrabbits at the Soldier Salute found their way to the podium on Sunday, highlighted by third-place finishes by Jacob Herm and Jarrett Wadsen.
Jacob Herm was the highest Jackrabbit finisher, alongside Jarrett Wadsen, taking third at 165 pounds. Herm started his day off with a tough task in No. 17 Bryce Hepner. Hepner was able to stifle Herm’s scoring offense on his way to an 8-3 decision that sent Herm to the consolation semis. In the consolation semis, Herm took on Wyoming starter Sloan Swan and made quick work of him with an 18-3 tech fall victory. In the third-place match, Herm took on two-time NCAA Qualifier Jack Thomsen. Herm used takedowns in the first and second periods to build a lead, which he held on to, securing a 10-8 decision, finishing third at 165 pounds.
Jarrett Wadsen made it to the Consolation Finals after a medical forfeit from Waylon Cressell in the consolation semis and made the most of his opportunity, taking third at 184 pounds. He took on Army Prep’s Nash Banko in the third-place match, where he scored a takedown in the waning seconds of the third period and put Banko on his back for the pin, clinching third place…
