Suspect Shot After Firing at Officers in Cedar Falls Carjacking Released, Booked into Linn County Jail

LINN COUNTY – A suspect accused of firing a rifle at law enforcement officers following a Cedar Falls carjacking and high-speed pursuit has been released from the hospital and booked into the Linn County Correctional Center. Authorities say the man now faces multiple felony charges connected to the officer-involved shooting and pursuit that unfolded across Interstate 380 late last month.

According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Samuel Reese III, of Center Point, Alabama, was transported Tuesday from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) to the Linn County Correctional Center.
