Man accused of random Cedar Rapids attacks not competent to stand trial, court rules

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids man charged with attacking at least five people in 2025 has been ruled not competent to stand trial.

Daniel Doyen, 25, had a competency hearing on Jan. 7. A judge filed the order determining that Doyan is not able to go to trial.
