IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Some Iowa City businesses face a trash problem as people illegally dump garbage in their dumpsters.
The city contracts Republic Services to pick up dumpsters in the downtown area. Republic Services bills businesses each time it picks up their containers, but some businesses say outsiders inflate those costs by dumping their own trash.
