Iowa City school board to vote on revised policy regarding student physical aggression

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Iowa City Community School District is considering a policy revision that would help to better define and address student physical aggression and discipline.

District leaders say the proposed changes to policy 503.8 are meant to bring more consistency by better defining aggressive behavior and clarifying disciplinary action when staff members are injured. The goal of the revision is to also include detailed examples of physical aggression to help determine if an incident involves injury.
