A University of Iowa-led telehealth program is working to improve care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the state. Launched in September 2024, Project ECHO connects health care providers, community agencies, and direct support professionals through free virtual training and mentorship to help address care disparities and provider training gaps. Participants share real-world cases and receive expert guidance from UI specialists and peers. In its first year, the program has reached 147 participants from 62 organizations across 35 Iowa counties.
