MARION, Iowa — The intersection of Highways 13 and 151 has reopened to traffic in all directions following emergency repairs Wednesday evening.
City officials said an oversized vehicle struck the mast arm supporting the eastbound traffic signals on Monday. An inspection determined the pole was compromised and needed to be replaced.
Crews removed the damaged mast arm and installed temporary signals, causing detours and traffic delays during the evening commute. At one point, signals at Highways 13 and 151 and Highway 13 and Linn Aire Avenue operated in flashing red mode while work was underway…
