Iowa’s first-ever HUD-assisted Veterans-only housing complex could be coming to Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Unhoused Veterans in Iowa City could soon have a place to call home in Iowa’s first-ever housing complex specifically for Veterans.

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors bought an apartment complex on Hollywood Boulevard in Iowa City in the summer of 2024. The county sent out a call for proposals to see how they could best utilize the space with the goal of affordable housing.
