CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Three expert witnesses have said Matthew Schleier experienced psychosis at the time of killing his son during their testimony in his first-degree murder trial.
Schleier’s lawyer is using an insanity defense in the trial for strangling his five-year-old son, Jack. He killed his son on the morning of Oct. 29, 2024.
Closing arguments are expected to take place on Monday. There is no jury as it is a bench trial and the judge is not expected to provide a verdict immediately…
