LINN COUNTY, Iowa (IOWA’S NEWS NOW) — One of the men convicted in connection with the December 2018 murder of Chris Bagley in Cedar Rapids has been arrested on new charges, just over two months after he was released from federal prison.
Paul Hoff, 47, was listed as an inmate at the Linn County Jail Sunday morning on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, as well as unlawful possession of a prescription drug and public intoxication charges. A criminal complaint says police arrested Hoff, who they say smelled strongly of alcohol, after a crash near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 1st Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Officers say they found psilocybin mushrooms and cocaine on him and Hydrocodone pills in the vehicle. Hoff denied any of the drugs were his.
Hoff was off the jail roster by Sunday afternoon…
