Cedar Rapids school board to vote on Washington High staffing cuts amid $10M deficit

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Monday night the Cedar Rapids Community School District Board of Education is set to vote on staffing reductions at Washington High school as it works to close a $10 million budget deficit.

The board is discussing a proposal that would eliminate 10 classes, cut one of the schools two band teacher positions and move some AP courses to every other year.
