Davenport, Iowa – Drivers across eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois could face dangerous travel early next week as a powerful winter system threatens heavy snow and near-whiteout conditions across the Quad Cities region.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday evening through Monday evening for a large area including Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Dubuque, and Freeport.
