ANAMOSA, Iowa (KCRG) – The Anamosa School District is in its first year with a dedicated school resource officer as Eastern Iowa districts weigh whether to add law enforcement presence on campuses.
Officer Derek Kunkel, a five-year veteran of the Anamosa Police Department, was assigned to the district this school year. The district is paying $75,000 for him to be stationed solely within its schools.
