CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A long-neglected storefront in Cedar Rapids’ Time Czech neighborhood is getting a second chance, thanks to a community fundraiser aimed at restoring a historic building that has sat empty since the 2008 flood.
The Brick by Brick Finish Line fundraiser brought residents together to support Save CR Heritage’s effort to rehabilitate a former pharmacy building dating back to the 1920s. The group purchased the building last year and is working to turn it into an architectural salvage shop and community space.
