Johnson County man charged with child endangerment, police say he threatened to shoot officers while children were home

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – The Johnson County Sheriffโ€™s Office says an officer was cut while arresting a man who threatened to shoot police.

That man is now facing child endangerment charges as police say three children were in the home where this happened.

A criminal complaint says police were called to a report of a domestic dispute. The caller said 24-year-old David Torres was threatening them and may have had a knife.

When police arrive at the home in Iowa City, the officer says Torres declined orders to lie on the ground…
