North Liberty Fire Station to move amidst firehouse update project

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) – Plans have changed for the North Liberty Fire Department’s project to update its fire station as the city now seeks to do a full demolition of the current building.

The current station has served the community for more than 50 years but Chief Brian Platz says the building is too small to allow the department to properly grow.

Previous planning included only a partial demolition with station operations continuing from a lot beside the building, the full demolition has the crew moving to the Public Works Campus…
