Property owners in Linn County should note that the U.S. Postal Service changed its postmark process on December 24, 2025. Mail is now postmarked when processed at a postal facility, which may be later than the day it is dropped off. Property tax payments must be received or postmarked by March 31 to avoid a 1.5% late fee. Payments can be made online with an eCheck (30ยข fee) at www.iowataxandtags.org or dropped in the secure box at the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Center. Those mailing close to the deadline should ask for a manual postmark at the post office.
