The Cedar Rapids-Metro Hazardous Devices Unit (HDU) is one step closer to receiving federal funding to replace its aging bomb-disposal robots and protective bomb suit. The project, submitted by the City of Cedar Rapids, has advanced to the next stage of the Community Project Funding process, announced by U.S. Representative Ashley Hinson on March 27, 2026.
