VINTON, Iowa — Fire destroyed a home late Wednesday night in Vinton, forcing firefighters to shift to defensive operations as the structure became unsafe, officials said.
The Vinton Fire Department was dispatched at 11:44 p.m. to a reported structure fire in the 700 block of West Eighth Street, according to Benton County Sheriff’s Office dispatch. Crews arrived within minutes to find the residence fully engulfed, with flames spreading throughout the inside.
