JONES COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – A group of meteorology and engineering students from across the country were in Eastern Iowa on Tuesday, looking to use their one-of-a-kind technology to gather data on tornadoes.
They make up The OTUS Project. It stands for “Observations of Tornadoes by UAV Systems.” KCRG talked with one of its members, Louis Tucker, on Thursday to learn more about their work.
