Flood control upgrades lead to reopening of E and F Avenue bridges under I-380 Friday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The E Avenue and F Avenue bridges beneath Interstate 380 are set to reopen to traffic at noon Friday, April 17, marking a key step in ongoing flood control improvements in the city.

The project also includes signal modifications on the west side of the bridge that will allow left turns from the northbound I-380 off-ramp at First Street NW for the first time. The change creates a direct connection from northbound I-380 to the northwest neighborhood. Additional signal and striping work will be completed by city staff.
