Sugapeach Chicken & Fish Fry is owned and operated by Chad and Carol Simmons, who opened the North Liberty restaurant back in August of 2016. According to an old article from the Iowa City Press-Citizen, the business, which was previously named Sweetiepie’s Chicken and Fish Fry, founds its new home in Johnson County after both locations in Cedar Rapids closed in 2014 and 2015. The decision to relocate was because they wanted to find a bigger space for the restaurant, and the name change was to avoid confusion with a group of restaurants in St. Louis.
