Tensions flare at Ahwatukee HOA board meeting over parking rules

AHWATUKEE, AZ (AZFamily) — An overflow crowd packed into Thursday night’s Foothills Club West HOA meeting as many homeowners were upset about new parking rules for the community that were set to take effect in the coming weeks.

“It was wild. The news is here, the police are here. Angry people are here,” said Club West HOA member John Perkins about the meeting.

Among the proposed changes, homeowners would have had to register their cars, including make, model, and license plate, with the HOA yearly, give at least two days notice if five or more visitor cars park at a single home, require people to park in their garage before they could use the driveway or the street, and an outside towing company would be hired to enforce the new rules…
