Man accused of fleeing to Mexico after 2022 Phoenix murder arrested, faces $2 million bond in court

PHOENIX — A man accused of fleeing to Mexico after a 2022 Phoenix homicide appeared in court Wednesday evening and had his bond raised to $2 million cash only.

Ricardo Melendez Hernandez, 25, faces charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a grand jury warrant, according to a prosecutor in court Wednesday night.

Phoenix police have since confirmed the arrest is in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Henry Roman, who was killed at a nightclub near 51st Avenue and McDowell Road on May 2, 2022…
