An Arizona man is accused of showing up at a Phoenix hotel dressed like a police officer and inventing a domestic violence situation in an attempt to get a free room. According to court documents obtained by 12News, Nicholas Calfy claimed to be a Mesa police officer while accompanied by a woman at the Fairfield Inn and Suites off South 50th Street.
Calfy certainly appeared prepared for the role, as an employee at a neighboring business told authorities he was wearing a marked police vest and carrying what appeared to be a firearm, along with a Taser and handcuffs. Police later determined that the apparent firearm was actually a BB gun, according to 12News.
Fairfield Inn and Suites General Manager Candice Adams told the outlet that Calfy claimed he was trying to obtain a room for the woman because she was a victim of abuse. He also allegedly told a hotel clerk that his boss was angry because he had been unable to get the room comped…
