A North Phoenix family says it spent about $10,000 repairing its home after a teenager allegedly kicked in the front door as part of a viral social media challenge, leaving behind damage far more serious than a short online clip might suggest.
12 News reporter Tiani Jadulang said Phoenix police have identified a 14-year-old boy believed to be connected to the so-called “door kick challenge,” a trend in which people record themselves forcefully kicking or damaging residential doors before running away.
The case drew attention after surveillance footage from September 12 appeared to show two juveniles approaching a home near Tatum and Thunderbird, with one of them kicking the front door open before both fled the area.
