Even warmer Sunday around metro Phoenix with rain chances by Thursday night

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – The strongest ridge of high pressure in the new year is building into Arizona for the weekend and much of next week. That will kick the jet stream well north into Canada and bring us abundant sunshine for the weekend and next week. High temps will range from the mid-to-upper 70s. And there’s even a chance some desert locations could top out around 80 next week. It will be close. No rain is in the forecast until Thursday; chances come in in the afternoon.
