Chandler Police: DUI saturation patrols this weekend

The Chandler Police Department’s Traffic Section will participate in a DUI Task Force through Sunday, May 5, 2024, for the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Additional officers will conduct saturation patrols within the City of Chandler to detect, and arrest suspected impaired drivers.

This program is funded by a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Officers participating in the task force are specially trained in the detection of roadway impairment caused by excessive alcohol consumption and the use of illicit or excessive prescription drugs.

The goal of the task force is to remove impaired drivers from the road before the damaging, often tragic, consequences that result from the decision to operate a vehicle under the influence.

Chandler Police remind everyone to always wear seatbelts and call for a ride anytime alcohol consumption is part of a driver’s celebration, or use a rideshare app.
