Kansas at Arizona State Preview: Rushing in the Desert

The Kansas Jayhawks head to the desert to face Arizona State for the first time in both programs’ history. What looked to be one of the easier games on the KU schedule back in August has been flipped and the Jayhawks are the reeling team against an Arizona State squad that has gotten off to a solid start.

Opponent Overview

Team: Arizona State

Record: 3-1

Line: ASU -2.5

Team Form

The Sun Devils swept non-conference play, including a win over Mississippi State and a road victory over Texas State. ASU went back to Texas to open the Big 12 season against Texas Tech, but fell 30-22. The offense has looked solid so far, with the Sun Devils putting up 30+ points in each of the first three games.

Players to Watch

The Kansas defense will be scheming to stop running back Cameron Skattebo. The senior is sixth in the conference with 433 rushing yards through four games with five touchdowns. But he is also a threat in the passing game. Skattebo has 13 catches on the season for 190 yards, which makes him the team’s second-leading receiver.
