The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was investigating an incident where a toddler wandered into the road in Mesa on Friday morning.
Sgt. Calbert Gillett, an agency spokesperson, said deputies responded to the area of 96th Street and University Drive where they located the boy, found his home and left him in the custody of the child’s grandmother.
Gillett said detectives planned on submitting charges of endangerment but did not specify who it would be against. He added that the Arizona Department of Child Safety was notified about the incident and would investigate further as well.
