Valley teen hit by car on New Year’s Day still in hospital

PHOENIX — A 14-year-old boy hit by a car in Laveen on New Year’s Day has been in the hospital for the last two weeks.

Celia Williams said her son, Rylei, was traveling on his skateboard to visit his girlfriend, like he had done many times before, when the incident happened.

Phoenix police said officers responded to the call at 1:30 pm on New Year’s Day and found the injured teenager in the roadway near 43rd Avenue and Vineyard Road…
